It's quiet in GayPornLand this Easter week and time to throw together another buffet of tidbits from various corners of the industry. We've got scoop on Roman Heart, Ken Ryker, Billy Brandt, Brett Matthews and Brad Rock. Elsewhere, COLT Studio is marketing up a storm, and director Thor Stephans is fulfilling a two-decades-old dream. Plus delicious Jean Franko and I are having trouble communicating. Rack 'em up, boys! NEWS BY THE NUMBERS 1.) Here's a scoop: Falcon exclusive Roman Heart is about to be named Freshman of the Year by (natch) Freshmen magazine. GAYVN's reigning Best Newcomer is up for the same award at next month's Grabby Awards in Chicago (where he will serve as a Trophy Stud), and he just renewed his exclusivity contract for another year. He's currently appearing in Big Dick Club for the studio. Check out FalconStudios.com for specifics. In other Roman Heart news, he recently snagged a high-profile gig modeling for a Japanese underwear company; they just shot a layout at the White Sands national monument in New Mexico. Lots of COLT Studio Group press release mayhem: First up are various public appearances for the various COLT Men Exclusives, including Nashville's Play Dance Bar for Chris Wide, the Charlotte Eagle in North Carolina for newcomer Karim, Faces bar in Sacramento for Luke Garrett and Blazing Saddle in Des Moines, Iowa for Mr. Garrett's fellow exclusive and real-life boyfriend Gage Weston. COLTbar.com has the scoop on booking one of these guys in your own hometown. 3.) "We're setting our TiVo now, so you should do the same!" proclaims another studio press release. That's because the VH1 sitcom So NoTORIous recently had Tori Spelling visiting the Pleasure Chest adult superstore in West Hollywood, where she browsed the COLT Gear display and ended up grabbing the 14-inch COLT Thruster! COLTgear.com has the lowdown on that particular toy. My bottom hurts just thinking about it. 4.) COLTmobile.com is yet another studio-branded Web site offering themed wallpaper, quick-bite video clips and "Mantones" available for downloading to your cell phone. I might just download the "Big Dick Motherfucker" clip (from Big Rig) although I kind of like the idea of having a "Brad Patton Orgasm" as my ring tone (make sure to check out "Bad Star Wars Reference" though). 5.) And we've got even more COLT Studio branded Web sites! Director and studio chieftain John Rutherford and the studio itself now have their own blogs: JohnRutherfordblog.blogspot.com and ColtStudioblog.blogspot.com. 6.) We're featuring Euro-studs Julian Vincenzo and Jean Franko on the cover of XXX Showcase magazine soon in a batch of sumptuous photographs from director Lucas Kazan's Love and Lust. Mr. Franko was tickled at the cover feature and agreed to an interview with me. What luck! There's only one problem: He doesn't speak any fucking English! I'll work it out, don't you worry. He can recite Madonna lyrics for an hour if he wants, and I'll just sit there and listen. 7.) Performer Brett Matthews will be riding in the upcoming AIDS LifeCycle 5, June 4-10. That translates to nearly 600 miles between San Francisco and Los Angeles. I was happy to kick in a donation to help him along. Mr. Matthews says he has cranked up his training to 15 hours a week in preparation. "You should see my ass!" he boasts, so that's another plus. AIDSlifecycle.org is the event Web site. 8.) I had a quick chat with director Thor Stephans about his supersecret project that has now been revealed to the world: EMVchannel.com (EMV stands for "erotic music videos") that has been launched in conjunction with those busy beavers at MaleFlixxx.tv. The director has also birthed ThorStephansTheater.tv to make his films available for downloading, etc. Mr. Stephans clued me into this project months ago, but I was sworn to secrecy, dammit. "This whole project has a long history," he says. "I got the idea back in the '80s, if you can believe it, because I loved MTV then. I presented it to John Coletti at Fox Studio," the venerable porn company, not Twentieth Century Fox, "and he poo-pooed it! Now fast-forward to the 21st century and he's my partner!" Mr. Stephans recalls the argument against creating EMVs two decades ago had to do with the inelegance of the VHS format for short-form music videos, erotic or otherwise. Nowadays, with VHS dead and buried and unmourned, plus everyone and their Aunt Tilly going online for their porn fix, downloadable EMVs makes financial sense. And he's using Mr. Coletti's old Fox footage to create them. "I keep finding these treasure chests of gorgeous men in videos and stills," he tells me. This, of course, only helps to direct traffic to the films from whence the clips were originally spring. Ah, synergy! 9.) Some Forest Men news: Agent David Forest will have legend Ken Ryker in Los Angeles from May 10-16 making the studio rounds Billy Brandt will also be in the City of Angels, May 16-20, including an appearance at "Cocktails with the Stars" at Micky's nightclub in West Hollywood Thursday, May 18 Musclebound Brad Rock, a refugee from Big Blue Productions when that studio shuttered last year, and currently onscreen in Trapped 1-2 for the relaunched Mustang Studios, has so far limited his public appearances. No longer; he's been lined up for a solo webcam wankfest on JC_TV via JasonCurious.com, May 4, followed by a "Cocktails with the Stars" appearance that same night and then an interview on Jason Sechrest's KSEXradio.com Internet radio show Friday, May 5 Keep an eye on ForestMen.com for any late-breaking developments. 10.) The Grapevine: Following his scene-stealing appearance on an episode of its Parental Control dating show, MTV lobbied hard for Caleb Carter to headline another episode of a different series, but so far the studpup has turned them down Which youngish movie star stud, enjoying acclaim for a recent hit, allegedly hooked up in his prefame years with one of gay porn's hottest porn pups What singer's fans are sending vicious hate mail to this column castigating that newcomer porn star for going public with his alleged tryst with oh, hell, forget it. Clay Aiken's "Claymates" are firing off poisonous emails to me following my recent detailing in this space about John Paulus' Web site dedicated to slamming Mr. Aiken. It is a very weird mess to find myself 11.) New Release Desk: The hilariously titled Beauty Prison, a Brazilian import on tap from Tribal Pulse and director Pietro Behind the Secret Door from Oh Man! Studios and director Bruno Riccelli gives a huge role to hirsute daddy Ty Hudson and costars little-seen butch beauty Brady Martin Newcomer Mathieu Paris is depicted on his back, legs spread wide, lubed-up butthole open for business on the cover of Fistpack 5: Anal Tap (as in "Spinal Tap") from director Chris Ward and Raging Stallion. Somehow Mr. Paris makes the photograph look classy. Now that's a talent Director JD Slater's latest from Centurion Pictures is Knight After Night featuring a bearded Bo Knight and the RSS dream team of Remy Delaine, Huessein, Erik Hunter, Francois Sagat and Tony Serrano.
