For some reason, Sharon Kane had a premonition that having the 4th Annual Probe Men-in-Video Awards at the place it's always been held on Highland Avenue in Hollywood wasn't a good idea this year. Sharon, you see, was cast recently as a psychic in Chi Chi LaRue's Echoes, and she is the one who sparked lots of psychic memories in the mind of Tony Donovan. (The part was written by her longtime friend Jordan Young, and he knows about Sharon's psychic intuition firsthand after living with her - like I did for three years!) |
Anyway, Sharon's part of the producing team, with Nick DiMartino, John Whyman, David Nygard and me, and we argued over and over about where to have the awards show that's picked by the fans. Mark and Nick wanted to do it at Rage, which I was against from the outset. Then, the numbers of RSVPs was so outstanding that we had to move it to a bigger location. I suggested we go back to the Probe, which is now The Play Room and has a more exclusive club clientele. They had a quarter-million-dollar renovation and redesigned the bars and dance floor, and that's where we had it last year, even though David Nygard doesn't own the building anymore and stood to lose a lot of money having it there. Well, I'm sad to report that this past weekend, in the early morning hours of Nov. 26, six fire engines were called out to put out the remnants of the former Probe. Hundahl's former office had flames shooting out through the roof, and burned carpets and floorboards were taken out. Sharon's psychic premonitions were right once again. Meanwhile, if you want to see the "parlor games" a few of the porn people really do have when they get together in their spare time, rent Echoes and you'll see Sharon in action just like she is for real. Oh, and on a bitchy side note, another funny story about a meddling agent (oh, aren't they all?). Anyway, Ryan Idol is talking about making a comeback (again?), and he (through his agent) insisted on presenting the top award of the night alone. Well, we barely have enough room to fit everyone who wants to come who is actually still in the business, and this year's Probe Legend Award is going to Gino Colbert (who has never had his just rewards for his performing), and he wants his longtime pal Blue Blake to present to him. Anyway, Ryan isn't coming but guess who is? Jeff Palmer, who angrily said he wouldn't come because he wasn't going to be allowed to perform his interpretative dance (again!) at the show, writes me to say he's going to come "because I was so surprised the fans voted me in three categories, so I will be honored to come for them." Hey, Jeff, you cum for your fans plenty, and they do for you. They love you. Some of the stars planning to be at the awards include: Jason Branch, Blake Harper, Billy Herrington, Scott Matthews, Caesar, Catalina's Mike Radcliffe, Ashton Ryan, Bo Garrett, George Fleece, Grant Wood, Jeremy Tucker, Kurt Young, Michael Knight, Thomas Lloyd, Patrick Allen, Nino Bacci, Sam Dixon, Steve Cassidy, Stonie, Vince Harrington, Zach Richards and Zak Spears. From out of town is coming Anthony Cox, B.J. Slater, Chaz Carlton, Robert Black, Derrick Stanton, Eric York, Doug Jeffries, Gordon Gage, Kyle Brandon, Joe Landon, Tina Tyler and many more.
